Kitchen Renovation (04/14 pt. 8)

Updated: Apr 28, 2020

PART 1

Welcome to our next kitchen renovation!  Custom Touch Builders is currently working on a home that is over 100 years old. We will be making extensive modifications. The existing dark kitchen cabinets will be removed and replaced with larger cabinets for additional storage. The drop ceiling will be removed to extend the room height. A custom Island will be designed and built to compliment the space. and floor. All new lighting, sheet-rock, ceiling and vinyl plank flooring will be installed.

PART 2

Electrical has been wired in the ceiling drywall installed. With the home being 100 years old the walls are not even. Custom Touch Builders is using Furring strips to plumb the walls before sheet rock and cabinet installation. Furring is the process of installing thin wooden strips to level the walls before sheetrock is placed. View the process below.

PART 3

After the walls were aligned the drywall was placed. Below, the base cabinets are being leveled and installed. Next week, take a look at upper cabinet and island installation. Cabinet doors and drawers will also be present.

PART 4

All cabinets have been installed. Let's take a look as this custom island. Multiple cabinets have been incorporated into the design. A gorgeous centerpiece for the kitchen. In addition to the island, the pantry offers more storage opportunities. Granite install, crown molding, hardware, tile backsplash and floor coming at ya soon!

PART 5

A beautiful granite with muted tones was installed. Crown molding at the tops of the cabinets are being cut and placed and the tile backsplash has begun. Stainless steel appliances have also been installed.

PART 6

Backsplash and crown molding have really pulled the room together. Take a look at the framed accent design above the oven. Hood and final installs including floors, appliances, light fixtures and outlet covers coming soon!

PART 7

While keeping with the overall design and feel of the kitchen, home owners wished to update the laundry room connected to the kitchen area. CTB used the same cabinets as seen in the kitchen and installed a butcher block counter top. This style counter top gives the room a lot of warmth as well as durability. Powder room and floors are next on the list!

PART 8

The range hood installed has been designed to match the cabinet style.

Wide vinyl plank floors have been installed. The grain provides texture and movement to the floor boards giving the impression of hardwood.
